HOLLY S. ROBERTS
Holly S. Roberts writes thrillers about formidable women facing extraordinary danger. A former homicide and sex-crimes detective, Holly draws on real-world investigative experience to create stories filled with suspense, survival, dark humor, and characters who refuse to quit.
Her thrillers range from serial killers and secretive cults to great white sharks, deadly parasites, and political insanity. Whatever the threat, Holly's stories share one thing: women who don't stand around waiting to be rescued.
FROM BOOKSELLER TO DETECTIVE TO BESTSELLING AUTHOR
Holly's path to becoming an author was anything but conventional. She spent twenty years as a bookstore owner, surrounded by stories and discovering the power books have to transport readers around the world.
At forty-five, she traded bookshelves for a badge and entered law enforcement. She served as a police officer before becoming a sex-crimes and homicide detective, investigating people and situations most only encounter in fiction. That experience gave her an intimate understanding of human behavior, fear, resilience, and the raw emotions surrounding life and death.
Eventually, those two worlds collided. The lifelong reader and bookseller became the writer, and the detective's understanding of people and danger found its way onto the page.
FROM PAGE TO SCREEN
Holly's writing career has taken her from independent publishing to traditional publishing with Hachette/Bookouture. Her Detective Eve Bennet crime-thriller series introduced readers to a detective who escaped the cult she must now investigate.
Her stories have also attracted interest beyond the printed page, with works optioned for film and television by Rocklin Faust (Oscar winners 2015 Best Picture SPOTLIGHT) and Dreamscape Productions. .
Her shark thriller BREACH is also making the journey toward the screen, expanding a story of survival, family, and a relentless great white into a new medium.
